About Us

Mission Statement

The Christian Quarterly is dedicated to “Putting the word of God into the hands and hearts of man.” Our mission is to minister in a very practical way to all walks of life. We have been a big part of the North State for almost 20 years. We feel called to expand this paper to many other cities in the United States as a last days ministry.

Core Values

To bring honor to the name of Jesus in all we do. The Christian Quarterly paper is a ministry in the form of a business and is accountable to God on both levels The focus of The Christian Quarterly is to help equip the saints for the work of the ministry, and the edifying of the “body of Christ”. All the context will be edifying, and ministering to Christ

Philosophy

The Christian Quarterly paper is a ministry focused mainly to grow, minister and help the body of Christ. We realize that we will touch the unsaved as well and we are excited about that. We accomplish this by producing a paper with articles written by both nationally, and locally recognized leaders along with specialists in their fields that will help revitalize the church. It is our desire to see the church operating at a level where the “Love of Jesus” is evident.

History

Our Publication began in the early 1990’s, when a woman (who wished to remain anonyms) gave founder Ralph Bagley a “word from the Lord” at the Palo Cedro Assembly of God church, telling him that God wanted him to start a Christian newspaper. Shortly after the start a retired pastor named C. M. Hawes introduced himself to Ralph and let him know that he had been praying that God would start a Christian paper in Northern California, and that he (Pastor Hawes) would love to become involved. The relationship that started between Pastor Hawes and the paper (The Christian Quarterly) lasted until Pastor Hawes went to be with the Lord, He was both mentor, and friend to Ralph, Cathy, and Garthe. In 1993 Cathy Jansen went to work for Adonai Publications selling advertising, in 1995 Ralph felt like the Lord was leading him to start an edition of the paper in Medford, Oregon, Cathy took over the edition in Redding, California and Ralph went to Medford to start that edition, Garthe, Cathy’s husband helped with delivery and prayer support. In 1999 Pastor Hawes asked Cathy a question that he said the Lord prompted him to ask. “How would you like to be the publisher of a national paper”? At that time we had no idea what that entailed, but all involved felt sure that it was the Lord. Where we are today is a result of walking out those words. Both Ralph and Cathy have had many confirmation words about this paper going national. At this time we are still working on funding and man power to accomplish this task.

Purpose

The Christian Quarterly is a non-profit ministry dedicated to sharing encouragement with the Body of Christ and non-believers alike. That encouragement finds its way through articles of Hope, stories of God's work in personal lives, Testimonies of what God is doing in our midst. Also we have articles on Health, Finance and other subjects that help us grow in maturity and understanding in our Christian walk. We have a variety of writers, some are from some well known ministries, Some are professionals in their subject, others are people who love the Lord and want to testify what God is doing in their lives.

Audience

There are two target audiences for The Christian Quarterly:

First, there is the Christian population. This includes both active and inactive believers. The active Christians will find strength in reading the articles of encouragement and hopefully will glean insight to grow spiritually. The inactive Christian will be encouraged to allow new life to come to his or her Christian walk. They will be able find the joy of following and serving Christ.

Second, there is the non-Christian population. The Christian Quarterly is designed to be a resource of Christian character. As the interested reader discovers how God has worked in the lives of others, he or she will begin to believe that God can work in his or her life as well. They will discover a God who cares and has plans for His people. As the non-Christian is interested he will find ministries to connect with and/or churches to discover. Encourage churches to list their church in our publication.
